Exciting News! Following the sell-out success of last year’s Acocks Green Calendar, Village in Bloom have produced a new calendar for this year. It is a wall calendar and each page features a contemporary colour photograph of some of the scenic views around Acocks Green.  The calendar lists all the public holidays and other significant dates (including full moons) and has space to write your important appointments.


This year the team also put a call out to local people to submit their favourite photos of the area for inclusion in the calendar :

Acocks Green’s attractive open space is in line for some improvements. There is an online consultation that takes just a few minutes to complete. What are the priorities for improvement. Let the council know what you think. Closing date 10th November so hurry.

Yardley Gardening Competition

Yardley Gardening Competition is open to all BCC tenants and leaseholders in Yardley District. See the photographs below of the first prize winners in the best front and rear garden, communal garden and balcony categories. The winners received their certificates and prizes at the Annual Awards Ceremony at Stechford Cascades on 25 October 2017. It is always interesting visiting all the entries to hear peoples stories about their gardens and how much they mean to them. Continue reading
