I awoke early on Sunday morning because I had agreed to be part of the team that was doing a Spring Clean at the park at 10.30am. At 9.00am I received a text message informing me that it had been cancelled due to heavy rain. The forecast for the whole of Sunday was dreadful.
Although the weather was such that you wouldn’t let your dog go outside, it didn’t stop seven very intrepid community minded people pick up the cudgel and venture into Sheldon Country Park for Spring Clean day. They carried out a litter pick collecting litter from the two coppices on site, they then went along the path south of the stream by the houses that back onto Westley Brook (Parkdale Road). Their massive effort meant they collected in total 26 bags of rubbish. (click on photos for a larger image)
