Nancy Noriega resident of Hollypiece House Acock’s Green wanted to brighten up the view out of the Common Room window of her block. Nancy attended the planning meeting of Pemberley Road’s, ‘Its your Neighbourhood entry and asked if Housing would fit window boxes and baskets to the wall outside the Common room.
Nancy helped the Caretakers and Environmental Trainees to put up the window boxes and baskets and then Nancy filled them with bedding plants.
When the assessors visited Pemberley Road to judge the scheme’s entry for the It’s your Neighbourhood competition they commented on the window boxes and baskets outside Hollypiece House and they helped the scheme win the coveted title of Thriving Neighbourhood
